چکیده

Context. The radiatively driven wind of the primary star in wind-fed X-ray binaries can be suppressed by irradiation compact secondary star. This causes feedback between and luminosity Aims. We aim to estimate how velocity on face-on side donor depends spectral state high-mass binary Cygnus X-3. Methods. modeled supersonic part computing line force (force multiplier) with Castor, Abbott & Klein formalism XSTAR physics solving mass conservation momentum balance equations. computed locally considering radiation fields from both each state. solved equations at different orbital angles joining stars took effect clumping into account. Wind-induced accretion luminosities were estimated using Bondi-Hoyle-Lyttleton velocities compared them those obtained observations. Results. found that ionization potentials ions contributing most fall extreme-UV region (100–230 ?). If flux this is high, weak, consequently, low. a correlation observations for Cyg X-3 assuming moderate low For high clumping, disappears. method used here comoving frame they agree reasonably well other. Conclusions. show soft X-rays penetrate diminish consequently side. increases qualitatively similar manner as observed evolution volume filling factor few (2–3) solar masses.

Cygnus X - 3 with ISO : investigating the wind

We observed the energetic binary Cygnus X-3 in both quiescent and flaring states between 4 and 16 μm using the ISO satellite. We find that the quiescent source shows the thermal free-free spectrum typical of a hot, fast stellar wind, such as from a massive helium star. The quiescent mass-loss rate due to a spherically symmetric, non-accelerating wind is found to be in the range (0.4–2.9)×10−4 M...

Effects of the stellar wind on X-ray spectra of Cygnus X-3

We study X-ray spectra of Cyg X-3 from BeppoSAX, taking into account absorption and emission in the strong stellar wind of its companion. We find the intrinsic X-ray spectra are well modelled by disc blackbody emission, its upscattering by hot electrons with a hybrid distribution, and by Compton reflection. These spectra are strongly modified by absorption and reprocessing in the stellar wind, ...

Disk - Jet Connection in Cygnus X - 3

We present the results of a detailed correlation study between the soft X-ray, hard X-ray, and radio emission (obtained from RXTE ASM , BATSE, and GBI observations, respectively) of the bright radio emitting Galactic X-ray binary Cygnus X-3. We detect a very strong positive correlation between the soft X-ray and radio emission during the low-hard and minor flaring periods of the source, and an ...

Search for 12 . 6 Millisecond Periodicity in TeV Gamma Rays from Cygnus X - 3

Cygnus X-3, an X-ray binary with an orbital period 4.8 hr was seen to be emitting γ-rays with the same period at TeV energies by several groups. In addition the Durham group (Chadwick et al. 1985) published their observations on the existence of a pulsar in the Cyg X-3 system, emitting TeV γ-rays with a periodicity of approximately 12.6 ms. We observed this object during 1986 October–November a...
